New figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) highlight increasing demand in several offence categories across Wiltshire, including violence without injury, stalking and harassment, and sexual offences. Recorded sexual offences increased from 2,224 offences in the year ending June 2025 to 2,419 offences in the year ending June 2026 (+195 offences, +8.8%), while violence without injury increased from 7,054 offences to 7,794 offences (+740 offences, +10.5%). Stalking and harassment offences also increased from 4,232 offences to 4,669 offences (+437 offences, +10.3%). While Wiltshire continues to record one of the lowest overall crime rates per 1,000 population nationally, these figures reinforce the importance of ongoing work to prevent harm, support victims and address offences that can have a significant impact on individuals and communities.
